What we save

Your language. When you choose a language, we remember it for a year, so the site opens in it the next time you visit.

Your trip and your cart. The trip you put together in the planner, your cart, your wishlist and the details you have typed in are kept in your browser, on your own device, so they are still there when you come back. They stay until you clear your browser or start over. So the page can show your trip and the number of items in your cart straight away, we also keep a short note that they exist, for a year; it holds nothing about the trip itself. While you answer the planner's questions, your answers are kept until you close the tab.

Signing in. If you have an account, your browser keeps you signed in until you sign out.

Local partners. If you come to us through the QR code or link of a local partner, such as your hotel, we remember for 30 days which partner sent you, so a booking you make can be credited to them. We keep only the partner's code and name, nothing about you.

Apart from the partner code, we only save what the site needs to work. The partner code only credits our partner; if you'd rather not have it, delete or block our cookies in your browser. You can also block cookies and site data altogether; the site then forgets your language, trip and cart between visits, and you can't stay signed in.

Other companies

We don't use analytics, advertising or social media trackers. Three things on the site come from other companies: on our About page your browser loads the reviewers' photos from Google's servers; the sign-in service (Google's Firebase) loads a small frame from Google's servers; and when you pay, the payment form comes from our payment provider, which saves what it needs to protect your payment against fraud. They see your IP address and follow their own privacy policies; the privacy policy names them.

Managing cookies

You can see, delete and block cookies and site data in your browser's settings; the help pages of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge show you where. You have the right to know what a website saves and to refuse it, under Swiss law (Telecommunications Act, Article 45c) and EU law; this page is there to tell you.
