Booking

How a booking works, from picking a date to the confirmation.

How do I book a tour, ferry or transfer?

Open the product, pick a date and the number of travellers, and press the button in the booking card. You enter the traveller details, review the price and confirm. You receive a booking reference by email.

What does "Instant confirmation" mean?

The operator has connected the boat to our system, so your seat is reserved the moment you book and the confirmation is immediate. Products without it are confirmed by our team, usually within a few hours, once the operator has answered.

What does "Availability on request" mean?

We do not see that operator's seats live yet. Pick the date you want and send the request; we check it with the operator and confirm by email. You are not charged until the seat is confirmed.

Can I book for a group?

Yes, up to the seats the boat or vehicle has; the booking card shows the limit. For larger groups write to us and we put the group on several boats or arrange a private departure.

Prices and payment

What the price includes, how you pay and what a deal is.

Which currency are the prices in?

All prices are in US dollars, the currency of Ecuador and the Galápagos. Tour and ferry prices are per person; a transfer is priced per vehicle unless the card says per person.

How do I pay?

By card at checkout, through a certified payment provider; we never see or store your card details. The payment step is being connected; until then bookings are confirmed by email and paid as our team explains in the confirmation.

What is a last-minute deal?

A price the operator lowers themselves for a departure in the next days, to fill the remaining seats. The deals page lists them by date with the departure time and the seats left. The discount applies only to the dates shown.

Are the national park fees included?

No. The Galápagos National Park entrance fee and the transit control card are paid on arrival, in cash, by every visitor, and are not part of any tour price. The current amounts are set by the park authorities; check them before you travel.

Changes and cancellation

What happens when plans change, on your side or the operator's.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before the departure. Write to us with your booking reference and we cancel it and refund what you paid. Inside 24 hours the operator has already committed the seat, so the price is due; the booking terms state the exact rule.

Can I change the date or the number of travellers?

Write to us with the reference and the change you need. If the new date has seats we move the booking; a price difference is charged or refunded.

What if the operator cancels, for example because of the weather?

Sea conditions and the port captain decide whether boats leave. If a departure is cancelled we tell you as soon as we know, offer the next available date or another tour, or refund in full. You choose.

Day tours

Departure times, what to bring, and how the boats work.

Where and when does a tour start?

The tour page shows the departure time under "Good to know" and, when there are several boats, per boat. Most full-day tours meet between 07:00 and 08:00 at the pier or your hotel; the confirmation names the exact meeting point.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, a hat, a light rain jacket, water shoes or sandals for wet landings, your own towel, and cash for anything the tour does not include. Snorkel gear is usually included; a wetsuit often costs extra. The tour page lists what is in and out of the price.

Why do some tours list several boats?

Several operators run the same route on different days and boats. Choose the boat that suits your date and budget; its price, its days and its seats then apply in the booking card.

Is a tour suitable for children?

Most day tours take children; long crossings and diving do not. Where a child price exists the booking card shows it. If in doubt, ask us before booking and name the ages.

Ferries and transfers

Getting between the islands and between the airport and your hotel.

How does the inter-island ferry work?

Speedboats leave in the morning and the afternoon from the main pier of each town and take about two hours. Check in at the pier 30 to 45 minutes before; luggage is inspected and taken by water taxi to the boat, which costs a small fee paid on the spot. The crossing can be rough; take motion sickness tablets if you are sensitive.

How does the airport transfer work?

From Baltra airport the way to Puerto Ayora takes about an hour: bus to the Itabaca Channel, a short barge crossing, then a private car across Santa Cruz to your hotel. Your driver waits at the airport with your name. From San Cristóbal airport the hotel is minutes away.

What is a transfer with a highlands or Darwin Station stop?

The same ride, with a visit on the way: the Santa Cruz highlands (giant tortoises, the twin craters, lava tunnels) or the Charles Darwin Research Station. It fits an arrival day well, since you see something before checking in. The transfer page shows the included visit and its route on the map.

Support

How to reach us before and during your trip.

How do I contact you?

By email or phone, both at the bottom of every page. Our team is on the islands, so during your trip you reach people who can act, not a call centre.

Where do I find my booking?

In the confirmation email, with the reference, the meeting point and the operator's details. Customer accounts with a list of your bookings are coming.
